The Senior Symposia program at Greenfield Community College is a collaborative effort between GCC’s Office of Workforce Development & Community Education and area senior citizens. The program encourages seniors to continue their education through attending talks by experts on a variety of subjects. Persons of all ages are welcome to attend the symposia and participate in the lively discussions that follow the presentations.
Because of the on-going pandemic, GCC will function remotely for spring 2021 and, thus, the planned in-person spring 2021 symposia have been cancelled. A disappointment, certainly, but thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we will offer six symposia for spring 2021 at no charge in a new, virtual format. Talks will be shorter than previously, running from 2-3pm mid-week from February to May. Zoom presentations will last for 45 minutes with 15 minutes for questions and discussion. Register below for by clicking “Add to Cart” when viewing a workshop. Registrants will receive a zoom link by email to use for participating in the symposium. (For information on how to use Zoom, go to https://www.seniorsguide.com/technology/a-step-by-step-guide-to-a-zoom-meeting/). Talks will also be available free online, to watch for two weeks following each presentation. No registration is required for access to the recorded talks (questions and comments can be made only on the original date of transmission).
