This class goes beyond the basics to help you expand your knowledge of Excel. You’ll start with a review of basics, as well as a series of useful quick tips and shortcuts. Then you’ll learn how to name ranges for more advanced spreadsheet operations. You'll practice running statistical, financial, and logical functions on data. You’ll practice using the Sort and Filter options to work with large data sets. You’ll learn how to use tables to format data and how to add a drop-down list to a spreadsheet. You’ll practice how to use spreadsheet tabs to create multi-page spreadsheets, and formulas that span several worksheets. You’ll use grouping to format multiple sheets at once, and you’ll practice linking data to other spreadsheets, as well as to other workbooks.
This class also provides an in-depth view of Excel’s charting feature. Students learn how to create charts, format each individual element, change chart data, and print charts. Creating complex charts, 3-D charts, and selecting specific chart types for specific purposes are also covered.
A certificate of completion will be awarded by GCC following completion of the training and demonstration of skills.
